In 1992, Viktor and his family decided to immigrate to Chicago, IL. After several months Viktor found a stone cutter position opening at Bevel Granite Co., in Marionette Park, IL. In three short years Viktor refined his in-depth knowledge of granite as the carving material to compliment his artistic skills. In 1997, he went on his own to officially become a professional sculptor and monument designer. After 13 very successful years of being a contractor to the surrounding Chicagoland monument fabricators and retailers Viktor decided to set up his own store and manufacturing shop with the help of his daughter Olga. In 2010 the father-daughter duo opened up Monumental Art Works.
Olga made a bold decision in the Spring of 2010 to start a manufacturing facility with her father in one of the most difficult economic climates. With plenty of competition, Viktor and Olga set out to bring top of the line artistry and competitive pricing to the memorial market. Olga knew that her company’s overhead would be small, so instead of setting the prices as high as her competitors, she decided to pass on the savings to the customer by keeping the cost low while still maintaining high quality products and service. Monumental Art Works still stands by this principle and has created happier customers than any other headstone and monument shop in the area!
Martin Gramont entered the memorial trade in 1986 with a background in graphic arts. Since then he has worked in every aspect of the business including sales and design.
While working for several Chicago area monument shops Martin met Viktor and became friends. Later, when Viktor told him he was going to start a shop Martin jumped at the opportunity knowing that his artistic abilities won’t be limited as it is typical in other monument shops. Coming from Chicago’s Lithuanian community, Martin is familiar with Eastern European traditions and cultural folk art. He uses this knowledge of time-honored styles that he applies in the shop to this day.

The memorial for our grandparents was done beautifully. The attention to detail, care, and sincerity were very evident in the work. Our family loved the finished piece and we appreciate the personal care and sentiment that went into the whole process.
AMAZING QUALITY. PROFESSIONAL STAFF. The attention to detail is simply amazing. It was a pleasure to work with Viktor and Liz. They patiently answered all of our questions about the order and made it so much easier to address a very emotional topic for the family. Thank you Monumental Art Works, Inc. for all that you did to make our hearts feel a little lighter.
Amazing service from start to the end and the stone was very affordable compared to other companies. I was able to order the headstone/grave and make all of the arrangements via email. I picked out the design and color, mailed the check and the stone was delivered 5 weeks later. It came out really nice and I am very happy with the service I received. Thank you!
Very pleased with the service we received, she was very friendly and helpful. At such a sad time in my life it was nice to talk to someone caring and thoughtful. love your work, thank you
Great people to work with. Lots of nice designs to chose from. The final work was very impressive and very reasonable pricing. Will be using them again for sure!
Liz extends herself with such Empathy and knowledge during a most difficult time to help with this process. Viktor's Artist abilities gave me custom drawings that you won't find anywhere else. He also extends himself with knowledge and kindness. This is definitely the place to go to.
After my uncle passed, I did not know where to begin to find and purchase a headstone. Luckily, I called Monumental Art Works and spoke with Liz Chartrand. Liz helped me with everything, over the phone, and made a difficult task very easy! I am forever grateful. Thank you, Liz!
Monumental Artworks created the monument in memory of my daughter. They made a stunning piece that makes us smile every time we see it. Victor is a master of his craft and we highly recommend him to honor your loved one.
